Looks
Let's approach this as a joke. ^^ When most fans harp on a favorite's outfits, it usually means that character wears something interesting. Seiichirou doesn't. If there
is one thing you can deduce about Seiichirou's sense of style, it's that he knows how to dress. For work. Well, stylish trenchcoats simply wouldn't do, I suppose. Gotta
play along with that "in character" thing.
Seiichirou's default outfit is his white button-up polo, brown suit, and tie. Standard office threads, but not too exciting. It does, however, match his brown
hair and eyes. The man (or the man's wife) can color coordinate. He wears a pair of wire-rimmed glasses that have been lost, broken, and smashed just about as many times
as Fuuma's sporty shades. The best examples of his typical wear are the famous color insert from the December 1998 issue of "Asuka" and the color manga on the back of
tankoubon 5, published back in 1993. Incidentially, the latter was the first "X" illustration I ever saw. Oh, the nostalgia.
In the October of 1995 "Asuka" we see a slight change in wardrobe on the subway. It's still office wear, only with a gray pin strips and a
diamond-checkered tie, alternating in red, white, and black. I highly object to this outfit and like to pretend that it doesn't exist.
Occasionally Seiichirou will remove the business suit for casual clothes, much to the delight of Karen. His casual outfit, seen in tankoubon 17 and 18,
consists of what appears to be jeans and a casual button-up polo, the sort of shirt you might in the men's clearance section at Kohl's. Ah, whatever works.
Now, there is a very cute picture of Seiichirou and Karen from their character files. Karen is wearing a red dress and Seiichirou is in a tux with a red bowtie,
holding Karen's red high heel. There is a similar snapshot from Karen's character file in the Playstation game, only Seiichirou's decked in a white suit rather than black.
Absolutely adorable!
Last we have a promo-poster by CLAMP for the "X" movie. Unless that Asagi is just a very snide, not-comatose Kakyou. Here we see Seiichirou decked out
to kill: red pants and tie with a white collar shirt under a modified military/business coat that comes down to the knees, buttons up the front, and is decorated with red trim,
strapes, and buckles to be topped off with a pair red gloves. For all other occassions, there's brown.
