Ten no Ryuu
Seiichirou has all the trappings of an average guy with a family and a respectable job; he's perhaps just slightly easier to tease than most people. What the rest of the office is unaware of is a large, hidden part of his life in which he is a key player in the humanity's destiny at the end of the world. Pre-determined for him before birth, Seiichirou is fated to protect the human race as one of the Seven Seals, the Ten no Ryuu, from anniliation by the Seven Angels, the Chi no Ryuu.

Seiichirou is kazetsukai, a wind master (lit. "wind user"). Born into the Wind Clan of Ise, he is a master of element and his power is considered the strongest in his family. Daisuke, a wind master himself, worships his uncle's skill. And like the other Ten no Ryuu, Seiichirou has the power to create a kekkai. A kekkai is a protective shield that covers an entire area of the creator's choice, separating the space within it from reality in another dimension. Any damage done within the kekkai does not affect the real world. However, should the creator be killed or be seriously injured, the kekkai will fall and the full force of the damage wrought within will be felt in the real world. (Not to be confused with the Ten no Ryuu's kekkai is a different sort that is a tangible thing, such a building or a subway route.) A Ten no Ryuu can only create a kekkai when he or she has something he or she wishes to protect. In Seiichirou's case, he wishes to protect his wife and daughter. It is not only his wish, but his justification for fighting for the human race. Each Ten no Ryuu's kekkai has a different shape, and Seiichirou's is shaped an octagon.

Among the Ten no Ryuu, Seiichirou acts as something of a father figure, in particular to the young and emotional Nekoi Yuzuriha. His partner, Kasumi Karen, fulfills a similiar motherly role. They are the two most mature members of the group, and as a result are prone to working more together than with the rest. Seiichirou had actually met Karen before either revealed being a Ten no Ryuu, interviewing her for a client at the soapland she where worked. Since the gathering of the Seals, the two have forned a close companionship. Their powers compliment each other: Seiichirou controls wind while Karen wields fire against the water and earth powers of Chi no Ryuu Kigai Yuuto and Shiryuu Kusanagi. The two make a formidable and loyal team.

Seiichirou is a strong believer in people. As he explains to Kusanagi in the TV series, he knows that mankind has made a lot of mistakes. Yet he believes that they can make it right and deserve a second chance. This, and the wish to protect his loved ones, fuels Seiichirou's drive to protect Tokyo and, consequently, the world. For if the tangible kekkai in Tokyo fall on the final day and the Kamui of the Ten no Ryuu is killed, civilization and the human race will be destroyed as well.
