Stuff 1: Apparently I was so out of the loop last year that I failed to hear about the Kayono & Takashima Kazusa scandal. I could go on and on about my opinion regarding this matter. However, it's enough to say that from my point of view, as a reader who considered herself a fan of both mangaka, what Kayono did, and how she and her family handled the situation, was unethical and unfair. I no longer have any interest in her work, and I've removed my review of Princess Hanaka from this site. I'm not sure how those who choose to overlook the fact that Kayono blatantly stole material from another mangaka can continue to read her manga and not wonder what bits she snatched from someone else. As for myself, I'm done with her. I'm glad to hear that Takashima Kazusa has started drawing again. ^_^

Stuff 2: I've gone through the shoujo and BL review lists and removed all of the titles that are not finished in Japan or do not have complete translations available in English. I did this chiefly so that I could focus on reviewing older, complete series that are no longer popular before hunting out newer stuff. Most of those incomplete series will be reviewed once they are finished, never fear. ^_^ ^_^

I did a bit of what you might call "spring cleaning" around here, so hopefully things look a little better in certain spots. Speaking of spring, where the hell is the pleasant weather? Okay okay, I'm technically 10 minutes too late for it to really be the 16th, but who cares? I have some BL for you this week! And with that, I am going on vacation. There won't be a review on March 30th, as I will have just returned from my trips to Minneapolis and New Orleans. Instead, the next update will be on April 6th. Enjoy the man-smut while I'm gone.

Last night I had expensive Thai carryout and cheap Sangria and watched some of the old "Wonder Woman" TV series. Now I feel kind of sick, and I don't know which of the three to blame it on. Heh. Only one review this time, unfortunately. I did plenty of reading, but for just about everything I couldn't come up with something to say. Sounds like I need a break from shoujo. Next update will be on March 16th.

I'm in super-shoujo manga mode. Did everyone have a good Valentine's Day? Mine wasn't bad. I made penne with vodka sauce for dindin, but didn't reduce the sauce correctly, so we basically had sauce that still had the alcohol in it. Ha. Anyway, expect more shoujo next week as well. Ho ho. The next update will be on March 2nd.

Ugh, I lied. It was a busy two weeks, so I ended up with just one completed review instead of that batch I promised. Note to self: don't make promises you might not be able to keep. But I don't think anyone will mind. ;)

In other news, Time Stranger Kyoko by Tanemura Arina has been licensed by Viz. Next update will be on the 17th.

Also, I have settled on a schedule for posting reviews. Starting today, there should be a new review every other Sunday. So, the next new batch will be up on February 3rd. And do expect a batch, because I have some unfinished reviews that I'd like to put up by then. ^_^

January 10, 2008 - Grand Re-Opening!
Yup, "The Trash" is back. Has it really been 3 years? I can't believe that I managed to keep all of the files for this site on my computer for so long. Since it's been such a long time, I won't bother to list all of the little changes that have been made. Just about all of my old reviews are back online, save a few in need of serious tune-ups. I'm really excited that I finally have this site up again, but I'm also really exhausted. Please forgive any spelling errors, strange sentences, and or general weirdness at the moment. I've spent the last couple of months trying to get this site back in order, and while I think everything is OK to go I'm so paranoid of little mistakes here and there that I've probably overlooked them all in the process of looking for them. Whew.

A lot has happened in those past 3 years, including my graduation from college and decision to take some time off from the stress of worrying about what to do with my life. What this means is that, unlike last time, I intend to keep "The Trash" up and running until I no longer have this domain. I have more free time than I did in the past, so I'm confident that I can actually make something out of this site this time around. My plan is to come up with a schedule for pumping out reviews on a regular basis. Right now, I'm thinking at least one review every two weeks. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, enjoy the few shoujo reviews I have up the moment. I'll be back in a week or so with some BL or shounen!

(By the way, if you remember the original site then you've noticed that this is more or less the same layout. Truth is, I think that this is one of the most original layouts that I've ever made; I'm really proud of it, and couldn't imagine replacing it with something shoddier.)
